Aside from grant after grant and all the other coronavirus funding being made available, there wasn’t really much else to shout about in 2020. It’s time to take positive steps to wellbeing that we need to make.
In December, the Cornwall Chamber of Commerce hosted their annual Christmas awards. Although COVID-19 had gotten in the way of hosting a full ceremony which nominees and guests could attend, the Chamber had very effectively run a virtual event.
It goes without saying 2020 was a difficult year for all and Whyfield had made every effort to help our clients along the way. For our efforts, we were very excited to receive two awards.
The first award was given to our MD, Laura for Diversity in Business with the second going to Annabelle for Promotion of Wellbeing Programme.
It is great to be recognised for all the hard work Annabelle and the team have put in over the last year, considering we were having to adapt to everything COVID-19 threw at us all while Whyfield were having one of our busiest years.
Annabelle is looking forward to bringing in more ideas for implementing health and wellbeing initiatives within the business. Along with the input of staff, she hopes to engage more with businesses and professionals regarding their own programmes in 2021.
This isn’t the first time we have been recognised for our efforts to support mental wellbeing. In March 2020, we won two awards from The Cornwall and Isles of Scilly Healthy Workplace Award.
On the topic of health and wellbeing, we will continue to provide you with new methods and tips for keeping track of your mental health as we navigate through the rest of the situation we all find ourselves in.
To kick start the year, Annabelle shared a new tool with our team to help us take further steps to positive wellbeing.
The NHS has set up a mood self-assessment which is personal to you. It provides ratings based on your responses so you can come back to it every couple of weeks to track exactly how you are feeling, and to see if you are feeling any different to the last time.
If tracking your anxiety levels and more is something of interest to you, please use the Mood Self-assessment here and do share it with others who may also benefit!
Radio 2 have announced a new show beginning the end of January produced by Audio Always, which will be aired each Sunday with Dr. Rangan Chatterjee at the helm.
The show will feature inspirational conversations and a positive musical soundtrack while it aims to help listeners plan their week with “positivity and purpose”.
On working on the show, he said:
“I’m thrilled to be joining the Radio 2 family. In my brand new show, I’m hoping to bring some wonderful well-being, calmness, great guests and the best music to Sunday nights as we all prepare for the week ahead.”
We are excited to listen along and see what inspiration we can take into the working week from the show.
