Our visit to Cornwall Business Fair 2026, By Amelia M
On Wednesday 8th July, Megan, our Head of Brand, and Charlie, our People and Practice Coordinator, headed down to Truro School for the 2026 Cornwall Business Fair, joined by our work experience student, Amelia. The team spent time exploring the stands, taking on challenges, and connecting with businesses from across Cornwall.
This post has been written by Amelia herself, giving her take on the day and what stood out to her most.
The day started with a visit to Swing Smart for a go on the golf simulator they had set up there, which turned out to be much more challenging than it looked! Then, our team went to visit Enigma Escape Rooms, who had a variety of puzzles set up on their stand. After spending some time attempting a few, the team managed to solve two of them after a lot of hard thinking.
We then made our way to the Lost Gardens Of Heligan’s stand, where they showcased their lovely offices and gardens that they had available. They also gave us bookmarks, which each had plantable wildflower seeds inside!
Rewind Radio had a ring camera set up, which they took photos with, but also an interview space where different guests and exhibitors sat on the sofa in front of the camera during the interview. You could see how the video and audio were recorded and handled, which was really interesting.
Then, the team visited St Michael’s Resort, where a spin the wheel was set up to win different prizes. One of these, which Charlie was lucky enough to win, was a day pass at the resort! Others who landed on less fortunate prizes had to take on the ‘deadhang’ challenge, gripping the bar for as long as they could. It looked exhausting, but a few people gave it a go and still got a prize.
During a trip to Kernow Accountancy’s stand, we all had a go at VR Fruitninja that they had set up to try, and it was a memorable way to hear about what sort of things they do.
JKC Creative Marketing had a challenge set up to win a hamper, with the winner being whoever could memorise the most words from a list. Even though none of us were close to winning the big prize, we did get a bag of M&Ms for giving it a good go.
At the end of the day, Cassie from Cornwall Caricatures was able to draw a caricature of our work experience student Amelia, which was lovely and artfully done.
Along the way, we also crossed paths with businesses like Innovation Nursery, Brooks Financial Planning, Everywhen, and Aztek, and stopped for quick chats with them all.
Overall, the day was very enjoyable and lively but also a great opportunity for building connections between the businesses and people there.
Our work experience student, Amelia, said “I really enjoyed this experience, and found it very helpful to see all of the different businesses within Cornwall and what opportunities there could be for me in the future. If I had the chance, I’d really love to go again!”
