Two talented accountants at Truro firm Whyfield are looking forward to the next stage of their careers after passing their final Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) exams.

Jess Crook and Josh Collett have passed the fourth and final level AAT exams last year to become fully qualified accountants. Both have progressed right through the AAT route which enables them to develop their knowledge in practice whilst building relationships and experience with clients.

Not content with her latest exam success, Jess is now looking forward to studying for her Association of Tax Technicians (ATT) and CTA exams to further her desire to specialise in tax work. She said: “The whole team at Whyfield have been really supportive in helping me to fulfil my potential. These qualifications will enable me to offer clients a better and higher level service which is good for me personally as well as the business itself. I am very grateful for the opportunity the firm has given me.” Once completed, Jess will be gaining Chartered Tax Adviser (CTA) status.

Meanwhile Josh is looking to take his career even further after being signed up by Whyfield for the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) “Whyfield have a unique way of working that helps employees like myself achieve their goals and ambitions. Whether it was extra time off to study or take exams or just extra guidance from senior staff, the firm were there for me and I really appreciate it.”

In explaining Whyfield’s approach to career development, managing director Laura Whyte said: “Every single member of our team is given the chance to grow and map out a bespoke career path to them. Accountancy is becoming more dynamic with digital skills, direct client communication and advisory capability increasingly in demand. We’ll continue to grow by meeting that demand with highly skilled and motivated people.”

With growth of over 50% in the past year, we welcome speculative approaches from experienced accountants with a modern mindset who want to keep on growing. If you are interested in developing at Whyfield, please send a summary of what you can offer to laura@whyfield.co.uk
