If the last two years have taught us anything, it is that we need to be kinder to ourselves and find a way to balance all areas of our life. We started 2022 wanting to pledge our commitment to our team, ensuring they feel supported with all aspects of their mental and physical health and wellbeing.

We are delighted to reveal that we have begun to implement our new health and wellbeing benefits package…

Comprehensive health care cover

We want our team to have peace of mind when it comes to any health concerns and the financial burden that often accompanies these. Our new comprehensive healthcare package with WPA Healthcare covers everything from dental treatment to physiotherapy and so much more.

Health and wellbeing 2-year events schedule

We have partnered with Newquay Sports Centre to put together a comprehensive 2 year plan that covers bi-monthly health and wellbeing events. These events include nutrition and habit seminars, self-defense classes, and outdoor sports sessions. Our key focus when putting this plan together was to create sessions that challenge and support both our mental and physical health.

Social events calendar

We understand how important our teams’ working relationships with each other are, and we want to make sure they have the opportunities outside of the office to switch off and have some fun. To work in tandem with our health and wellbeing schedule we will also hold bi-monthly social events. These events will cover anything from escape rooms to cocktail nights, and even some go karting in the summer!

Four-day work week

In April 2022, we introduced the four-day working week, providing our employees with a healthier work life balance. Many of our team use this day to explore more of the county, spend time with friends, practise self-care, or simply catch up on life admin so they can enjoy full weekends with their loved ones. Other Initiatives

As well as the above, we’ve previously implemented other healthy workplace initiatives that we still stick to in the office…

Exercise bike and standing desk

We have an exercise bike with a built-in desk, and a standing desk, giving staff flexibility to also work whilst exercising.

Healthy drinks

There is a wider selection of fruit, herbal and decaf teas, and coffees in the office kitchen… not to mention a smoothie machine.

Kitchen revamp

We had a revamp of the kitchen at the end of 2021 to make it a more enjoyable place to relax and unwind, with additional seating & shelving, as well as ample storage for snacks.

Rescue box

A ‘when in need’ Rescue box – containing various remedies for common illnesses, deodorant, feminine hygiene products, and more.

Team buffet

A monthly themed buffet lunch where every member of the team brings in one item and we have lunch together.

Duvet day

A once-a-year ‘get out jail free’ card where you can take an additional paid day off without notice.

Plus…

  • Eye test vouchers and money off glasses
  • Puzzle books and magazines in the kitchen
  • Walking routes outside the office and encouragement to get out of the office for a walk each day
  • In-house team building days
  • Mental health first aid training for staff members

We are excited to see our team and clients continue to flourish, making sure that Whyfield is part of creating long-lasting foundations that support personal and business growth.
